Today we focus on the mind of the 1st grader.
Prince Christopher is into sports. Seriously. If you drive by my house any day after 4 you can feast your eyes upon his fantasy football/soccer/capture the flag/baseball shenanigans. Thank goodness our childless next door neighbors are cool with our soccer goals that are constantly left overnight in their front yard.
Prince Tim plays high school football and Prince Christopher is always at the varsity games, trying to get on the sidelines or running plays way behind the goal posts. Last week the opposing team had a huge inflatable arch for the players to run through at the start of the game. The next day I was instructed to look on the internet for one. “NFL.com Mom. I want to get a Raiders one because that is the name of my flag football team.” Never mind finding a generic one that the school could use forever, this is all about him.
So after assuring him that NFL.com would not have exactly what he wanted I Googled ‘inflatable arches’ on the net. Trust me, do NOT Google ‘inflatables.’ We finally found one and checked the price tag. $3,200 bucks. “Sorry kiddo, I don’t think that coach is going to spring for that.”
His reply? “That’s okay Mommy. When you win $50,000 on
Wipeout we can get one then.”
“Yes my darling, that is the very first thing we will do with our prize money.”
I’m so impressed he thinks I could win that. Confirmation that I am Supermommy.
