Fellow Queens!
Shhhhhh. Can you hear that? Listen. Not a sound.
The younger two Princes are at camp and Prince 16 year old might as well be now that he has wheels and is gone a great deal of the time. It is really quiet. And I must say I’m enjoying it.
Not that I don’t miss them. Prince Christopher, at 7, just made the cut to go to camp. I was thinking he might be too young but Hubby convinced me to let him tag along with his older bro. I think Hubby was more concerned with my dwindling sanity more than good times for the kiddos.
I have been comforted by checking out the day’s pictures on the camp website. Prince Christopher didn’t look terrified as he rode an ancient pony yesterday. Prince Matthew appears to be wearing the same clothes every day. But they both have big smiles on their faces, a good thing.
Even though I have been catching up on movies with Prince Tim (Harry Potter at midnight + being a woman of a certain age = a Mommy who needs a coffee IV the next day) writing more and reading more, the break really reminds me again how fleeting time is. In two years Prince Tim will fly the coop and be in college. Hopefully never to live at home again with the exception of holidays and possibly the summer after he graduates. We did space the boys so far apart that I will be paying tuition for the next 15 years. Good times.
Here is our camp related boy story of the week from Carole Rothstein from Columbia, SC.
After our three boys finished camp, we picked them up but their trunks were shipped home by Greyhound bus. I dreaded the horror of dirty clothes, mildewed swimwear, towels, sheets and the 300 muddy golf balls they bragged about retrieving from the bottom of the lake. What a shame when all three trunks were stolen and never made it home. Can you imagine the thieves’ disappointment who from the weight of the trunks thought they had a ton of treasures? The insurance contributed nicely to new camp gear for the following year and saved the life of our washing machine. Couldn't have planned it better myself.
See you next week when the chaos begins again.
Reign On!
