It is Red Ribbon Week at Prince Christopher's school. 
Why in God's name anyone thinks that if kids wear crazy socks they won't do crack is beyond me. If I had to wear crazy socks I would probably want to do crack.
Tomorrow the little children are to wear a silly hat as an outward sign of shared promise to defeat the siren callings of a can of Coors. Christopher asked if he could wear his brother's beer hat. 
I don't know whether I should be proud or mortified.
